The MCI course is a fully online certificate program that has been developed as a space to share resources about multi-campus teaching to equip you with the tools and strategies necessary to succeed as an educator involved in a multi-campus program. The benefits of blended multi-campus instruction are becoming more apparent as technologies develop and teaching efficiently is increasingly important. Blended multi-campus instruction typically involves a synchronous component with a single instructor teaching in-classroom at one location and remote cohorts attending with the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) coupled with asynchronous learning. This model has the benefit of bringing together experts from one campus with students from one or more other campuses. Although not a new premise, many attempting to transition from a single classroom to a multi-campus environment struggle to maintain teaching presence, access, equity, and fairness at all locations.
The program consists of a series of modules that are delivered either remotely (synchronously through Zoom) or asynchronously (taken at your own pace). Each module takes approximately one hour to complete. The number of modules required to complete the program and the recommended modules to take are dependent on your role as a multi-campus educator. Attendees are welcome to complete additional modules beyond those listed for a specific role. Roles include:
- Course Designers
- Course Instructors
- Course Teaching Assistants
- Program Directors/ Heads
